Kalimo is a language-learning app made by Sincera. By installing and using the app you accept these terms. This text is also the app's end-user licence agreement (EULA).

Your right to use the app

Sincera grants you a non-transferable licence to use Kalimo on your device for personal, non-commercial learning. You may not copy, rent, sell or reverse-engineer the app, or abuse it with automated tools.

The free tier and ads

Kalimo's lessons, reading shelf and flashcards are free. The first pair of lessons and the first article are open directly; every step after that is opened by watching a short rewarded ad.
A full-screen interstitial ad is shown after the lesson questions and after the level test; every third lesson offers a rewarded ad that refills your hearts on the way in. A lesson entered right after an ad opens without one.
On the free tier the heart counter runs: you start with five, a wrong answer costs one, and one heart comes back every 10 minutes. When you run out you can wait, watch a rewarded ad, or refill from the shop.
Talk with Kalimo and the pronunciation studio are open only on a subscription; both run a paid speech assessment on every attempt.
On a subscription the ads disappear entirely and the heart counter does not run.

Subscription

Kalimo Premium is an auto-renewing subscription. The purchase screen may offer two plans: Kalimo Premium — Yearly and Kalimo Premium — Monthly. The amount the store shows for your country applies. The current price, the subscription period and the renewal frequency are always written on the purchase screen.
On the yearly plan new users get the first 7 days free. Your card is not charged when the trial begins; the first charge is taken on the day the trial ends and the subscription starts from there.
Unless you cancel, the subscription renews by itself at the end of the period; the charge is taken within the 24 hours before the period ends.
Purchase, payment, renewal and refunds all run through Google Play or the Apple App Store. Your card details never reach Sincera.

Cancelling

iPhone / iPad: Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions → Kalimo → Cancel Subscription.
Android: Google Play app → profile → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → Kalimo → Cancel subscription.
Cancel before the trial ends and you are charged nothing. You keep using the app until the end of the period you cancelled in.
Refund requests follow the store's own rules and are made through Google Play or the App Store.

Account

An account is opened only with Google or Apple; we hold no password.
The app is for ages 13 and over.
You can delete your account and your data at any time: in the app, Profile → Delete account, or https://lingopulse-ai.web.app/en/delete-account

Content

The lessons, texts, audio and images belong to Sincera; they may not be reproduced or distributed other than for personal learning. The dictionary pack is derived from Wiktionary and comes under CC BY-SA 4.0; the licence text is inside the pack.

Liability

Kalimo is a learning tool; it guarantees no particular exam result, certificate or level. The service is provided "as is". Liability for indirect damages arising from interruption, data loss or faulty content is limited to the extent the applicable law allows.

Changes

If the terms change, the date at the top is updated; if there is a material change, it is announced inside the app.
